Former footballer Michael Owen criticized for releasing a dubious collection of NFT tokens
An anti-campaign erupted on social media after Michael Owen’s decision to release his NFT token collection. In particular, social media users were surprised by the pyramid-like scheme of the new collection.
First, Owen and the developers from Oceidon claim that their non-fungible tokens are designed in such a way that their value can only increase and never decrease. Explaining the reasons for this mechanism, they mention the impossibility of putting a token up for auction for less than its purchase price.
They do not specify how this will affect the overall value of the collection and the real estimated value. Crypto enthusiasts believe that the prices of certain tokens will be artificially inflated to create the appearance of growing popularity of the collection, the elements of which cannot be sold for less than the purchase price even if there is a buyer.
Almost all commentators agree on the following:
- Projects with celebrities always promise something good, and then like Floyd Mayweather
- In this case, the collection has more questions than answers
- Ex-footballer can’t satisfy his hunger for money by involving honest workers in his scam
