The ex-girlfriend of the famous programmer John McAfee claims that he faked his death

The famous American programmer John McAfee, who died a year ago, is alive, according to his ex-girlfriend. According to Samantha Herrera, McAfee faked his death in prison and told his ex-lover about it.

According to Samantha Herrera in the Netflix documentary «Running with the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee», the programmer and founder of the McAfee antivirus company contacted her 2 weeks after his death. «I don’t know if I should tell you, but two weeks after John died, he called me: «It's me, John. I paid people in jail to lie about my death, but I’m alive,'» said Samantha Herrera.

According to Herrera, only 3 people in the world knew that the programmer was actually alive. Obviously, after the movie’s release, more people will know about it. However, it is currently impossible to confirm or deny the words of McAfee’s ex-girlfriend.

A year ago, the 75-year-old businessman was found dead in his prison cell. It happened a few hours after the Spanish Supreme Court authorized his extradition to the United States. McAfee was arrested in October 2020 at the request of the US authorities. The Securities and Exchange Commission accused the entrepreneur of defrauding investors while promoting ICO projects, and the Department of Justice accused him of tax evasion. In 2021, McAfee was charged with fraud and money laundering.
