Zuckerberg’s company will teach students in virtual reality for free

3:55 pm, September 4, 2022

Meta has announced the launch of its own educational project Meta Immersive Learning Project, which aims to help 10 US universities optimize learning in virtual reality.

As it became known, Meta developers have created virtual prototypes of educational institutions with all the buildings and university grounds. To get to VR classes, students only need to put on a virtual headset. This fall, 5 courses will be available for students to study in virtual reality, including biology and astronomy.

Interestingly, virtual learning from the Meta Immersive Learning Project will be absolutely free for students whose educational institutions cooperate with Zuckerberg’s company. According to the authors of the idea, universities have long considered the possibility of conducting virtual reality classes, but have not allocated separate funds for this, so the Meta initiative will be appropriate.

As for VR headsets, Meta Platforms will present a new generation of virtual reality glasses in October. According to Mark Zuckerberg in Joe Rogan’s podcast, Meta’s virtual reality headset will be presented closer to the company’s annual Connect event in October. At present, the company representatives do not disclose the name of the new VR glasses, but it is known that they are codenamed Project Cambria.
