Google supports Solana blockchain — the token grew by 12% per day

10:20 am, November 6, 2022

Google’s cloud computing unit, Google Cloud, announced on Saturday that it is now launching a validator on the Solana blockchain and will soon add features designed for Solana developers and node executors.

Solana (SOL) was up 12% on the news, changing hands at around $ 36.80 at the time of publication.

Google Cloud said that in addition to launching the Solana validator «to participate and validate the network,» it plans to adapt its Blockchain Node Engine to the Solana network in 2023. BNE is a «fully managed node hosting service» operated by Google that already supports the Ethereum blockchain. «We want a Solana node to be able to be launched with a single click with minimal overhead,» said Google Web3 product manager Nalin Mittal at the Solana Breakpoint conference in Lisbon.

Google also announced that it will now index Solana data and add it to its BigQuery data warehouse, which will «make it easier for the Solana developer ecosystem to access historical data.» According to Mittal, this feature will be launched in the first quarter of 2023.
