Developer to return $ 620 million stolen by hackers to users of the most popular cryptocurrency game

Sky Mavis Inc., the developer of the most popular cryptocurrency game Axie Infinity (AXS), has announced that it will refund all users the funds lost after a hacker attack on the Ronin sidechain. The developers said that Ronin will be restored on June 28, when users will receive their money back.

The hacker attack on the Ronin sidechain was carried out back in March. Back then, the attackers used an exploit that affected Sky Mavis validator nodes. The company suffered losses of 173,600 ETH and $ 25.5 million — 1/3 of the stolen assets belonged to the company, but more than 100,000 ETH were gambling. However, immediately after the attack, users were promised a full refund.

Axie Infinity is one of the largest Play2Earn games that allow participants to accumulate crypto tokens during the game, which can then be traded.
