Xiaomi will use blockchain technology to develop virtual characters

Chinese electronics company Xiaomi has applied for a patent that will use blockchain technologies to develop virtual characters.

Xiaomi plans to use its patent to develop unique characters with their own characteristics and individual genetic code. However, it is not yet known where the company will use its own virtual characters. Users believe that Xiaomi may launch its own metaverse or a collection of non-fungible tokens. However, company officials have neither confirmed nor denied such rumors.

Perhaps Xiaomi is taking a cue from one of its main competitors, Samsung, which recently announced the launch of its own Space Tycoon virtual space in the Roblox metaverse. In the Space Tycoon virtual space, users will be able to learn more about the company’s history, product development stages, and will have the opportunity to work on creating new Samsung technology themselves. This is not the first integration of Samsung into the Web-3 space — in early June, Samsung launched its Discord server for users.
