Meta Corporation launches its virtual reality for European countries
Meta Platforms has announced the launch of its Horizon Worlds metaverse in Spain and France. Now, citizens of these countries who are already 18 years old will be able to use the application using one of the VR headsets sold by the corporation.
Horizon Worlds allows you to immerse yourself in virtual reality, where you can move around in metaverse created by other players. Since 2020, the program has been available to users in the form of a closed beta version, which could be accessed only by invitation. Last December, Meta launched Horizon Worlds for users in the United States and Canada, and this year it opened the platform to customers in the UK, Ireland, and Iceland.
Spain is particularly important for Meta, as the corporation has decided to invest more than a billion dollars in the construction of a giant data center in the country. In addition, a new Meta Workers' Hub will be built in Madrid in the near future.
«Spain is at the forefront of European technology. The country benefits from two strong technology centers: Barcelona and Madrid. As our company prepares to develop virtual reality, we are placing Spain at the center of our plans,» said Meta Vice President Javier Olivan.
Earlier, Meta announced that the Instagram-backed digital NFT feature would be launched in 100 new countries. The list includes the Americas, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East and Africa.
