Twitter users support Elon Musk, accusing the social network of an extremely large number of bots

9:57 am, September 9, 2022

Members of the cryptocurrency community have accused Twitter of having an extremely large number of bots and called on the social network to influence the situation, thus supporting Elon Musk, who has been drawing public attention to fake Twitter accounts for several months.

It seems that Twitter representatives «ran into» a wave of hate from users. This is how members of the crypto community express their indignation at the large number of bots: some write posts and comments, others create works of digital art. According to the users, they have one goal: to urge the Twitter administration to pay attention to the problem and change it.

«No one. Absolutely no one. Crypto-bots in the comments: Why no one is talking about this,» Cointelegraph journalists wrote in a tweet.

Crypto-trader Scott Melker published a post with screenshots of bots' tweets and a digital image of a girl wearing a dress made from the comments of fake accounts.

However, the Twitter administration not only does not comment on user requirements, but also plans to launch a feature that could increase the number of cryptocurrency frauds. Thus, Twitter developers have started testing a new post editing feature, and if the test is successful, everyone will be able to correct their posts within 30 minutes after they are published. According to the crypto community, the editing function can be used by cryptocurrency fraudsters to post phishing links and, as a result, steal users' funds.

As a reminder, it was the lack of information about the real number of bots on Twitter that made Elon Musk refuse to buy the social network (yesterday another factor became known). Also, a few days ago, the CEO of Tesla and Space X complained about the large number of bots on Twitter impersonating Binance-u-tvitteri/">Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao. Both Changpeng Zhao and representatives of the official Binance Twitter account added their comments. «Twitter, please, I see my boss enough already. Can you help me not to see him 99 times more because of the bots?» the exchange representatives wrote on behalf of Binance.
