Cryptocurrency startup Nomad asks hackers to return stolen funds for a reward
A reward of 10% for the return of users' funds (almost $ 200 million) and no prosecution — this is the offer made to hackers by the management of the crypto startup Nomad on July 4, CNBC reports.
«The reward is intended for those who come forward now and for those who have already returned the funds,» the company said, adding that it has already managed to return $ 20 million (although probably in a different way).
Nomad said it will not take any legal action against any hackers who return 90% of the assets they seized, as it considers these people to be «white hat» hackers, i.e. hackers who work with organizations to warn them of problems in their software.
Nomad is a so-called crypto bridge, a tool that connects different blockchain networks. Bridges are an easy way for users to transfer tokens from one blockchain to another.
