Cryptocurrency has become one of the most popular assets among women
According to eToro analysts, cryptocurrencies have become the second most popular asset class among women, second only to cash. This information was obtained thanks to the latest eToro Retail Investor Beat study, where experts interviewed about 10,000 retail investors in 13 countries.
As it became known, the share of cryptocurrency ownership among women increased from 29% in the third quarter of 2022 to 34% at the end of the year. According to the eToro team, attracting women to the crypto sphere helps digital assets «succeed where traditional financial markets fail.»
While in the last quarter of 2022, women began to invest more actively in cryptocurrencies, the number of male investors increased by only 1% over the same period. Also, the number of retail investors aged 35−44 and 45−54 increased by 5%.
It is worth noting that according to a September survey conducted by Swyftx, Australian women benefit more from investing in digital assets than men. Australian women who own cryptocurrencies have made an average of $ 7314 in profit over 12 months. This is less than the money that Australian men managed to earn — about $ 7089 each.
Back in May, American investor Tim Draper said that bitcoin would grow to $ 250,000 with the help of women. «At some point, women will have bitcoin wallets en masse, so they will start buying goods with bitcoins,» Draper said. It seems that Draper’s predictions are starting to come true.
