Cryptocurrency XRP will leave the US in case of defeat in court
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has reassured XRP cryptocurrency holders, saying that his company will move its business out of the US in case of a defeat by the SEC.
The firm is currently headquartered in San Francisco, California. If the court upholds the SEC’s claim to recognize XRP as a security, the organization will move its headquarters abroad.
Garlinghouse believes in the victory of his company and claims that the trial is going much better than he could have expected. In his opinion, the verdict in the SEC case against Ripple will be delivered next year.
The loss of Ripple will hinder the development of the company, as it will close its access to the world’s largest American market. The victory will provide an opportunity for growth, as US companies will no longer be afraid to work with the organization. Besides, the court’s decision will definitely affect the entire crypto industry.
If the SEC lawsuit ends in a loss for XRP, other digital assets will also be at risk of being classified as securities. Ripple’s victory, on the contrary, will be a positive indicator and will affect the regulatory mechanism for all other virtual currencies.
