Binance Cryptocurrency Exchange Announces Integration with Diia App

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has added the ability to verify on the platform through the Ukrainian government application in the Diya smartphone. From now on, every new user who has an ID card or foreign passport in Diia can pass KYC verification in a matter of minutes.

The new feature for Ukrainians became known from the official website of the crypto exchange. «Today we are all witnessing the growing acceptance and regulation of cryptocurrencies around the world, and for Ukraine, cryptocurrencies have become one of the main ways to receive humanitarian aid and preserve the savings of Ukrainians in the recent difficult months,» said Kirill Khomyakov, General Manager of Binance in Ukraine.

As explained by Oleksandr Borniakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for IT Development, KYC verification with Diia will facilitate the registration procedure for every Ukrainian. Previously, users had to wait more than 24 hours to get access to all services on the Binance platform after submitting their personal data.

It is not yet known whether Binance’s innovation is related to the announcement of the integration of blockchain technologies into Diia. During his speech at the Kyiv Tech Summit hackathon, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov intrigued users with future Web3 innovations in the government’s smartphone app.«I want to inform you that Diia will have something related to Web-3. This is something that will shock everyone. While everything is still a secret, we will present the new product at Diia Summit,» said Fedorov.

Despite the war in Ukraine, our country is actively developing in all directions, and the digital and cryptocurrency sector is no exception. According to the plans of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukraine will launch a national cryptocurrency (CBDC) in 2030. At the same time, Fedorov plans to significantly reduce the circulation of conventional paper money by that time.
