Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com will not serve cryptocurrency wallets of Russians
The cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has started sending notifications to customers from the terrorist country that, under sanctions, it will no longer serve Russians. «The Crypto.com application is no longer available in your region, your account will be closed,» the crypto exchange sends such messages to clients of the occupying country. The company emphasized that it will continue to «fully comply with all EU sanctions» imposed on Russia in connection with its full-scale military aggression against Ukraine.
We would like to add that the lion’s share of the cryptocurrency community giants supported the EU sanctions against the terrorist country and stopped supporting Russian clients or are in the process of terminating cooperation with them. Thus, Coinbase stated that it«complies with all relevant laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which it operates, including those related to sanctions.»
Last week, the LocalBitcoins project announced that citizens of the occupying country would no longer be able to use the service: «Due to European sanctions, LocalBitcoins will no longer be able to provide its services to users from Russia. You can withdraw all your bitcoins in one transaction. After that, you will no longer be able to use your wallet.» Blockchain.com, the BitMEX cryptocurrency exchange, Revolut Bank, and Huobi are also in solidarity with Ukraine and Europe.
Currently, the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance is behaving doubtfully — the company said that they «did not introduce any new restrictions» and they «have no changes in existing communications with Russian users.» «As for the funds, they are safe and will definitely remain with the clients,» the support team added.
