Cryptocurrency exchange refuses to cooperate with UEFA football tournament
Representatives of the Crypto.com exchange have confirmed that the deal with UEFA to sponsor the Champions League tournament has fallen through. Earlier it was reported that the cryptocurrency exchange was ready to sign a 5-year contract worth about $ 500 million. The company planned to pay $ 100 million annually to UEFA to have its logo appear on screensavers during broadcasts and on billboards around the football field.
However, a few hours before the agreement was signed, the exchange giant refused to cooperate with UEFA. Crypto.com representatives did not comment on their decision. UEFA expressed disappointment, saying that it had planned to form a cooperation designed to offer football fans new opportunities.
Market experts emphasized that the decision of Crypto.com could be caused by questionable aspects in the agreement. Previously, UEFA representatives have been repeatedly accused of corruption and other fraudulent activities.
As a reminder, the cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com accidentally sent$ 10.5 million to its client instead of $ 100, and the mistake was discovered only seven months later.
