Cryptocurrency platform Uniswap becomes unavailable due to problems with Cloudflare

The largest decentralized exchange (DEX) Uniswap is suffering from a failure caused by a routing problem at the network services company Cloudflare. For some users, Uniswap’s website is currently loading as a blank page, though some other customers are not experiencing the same problem. Those who have encountered problems report that the problem has been going on for more than half a day.

The official representative of Uniswap on Discord «blamed» Cloudflare, a tool that provides a secure Internet connection service, for the breakdown. And in a post on Reddit, the Uniswap team advised users to connect to the protocol via an IPFS link, a decentralized file storage protocol that supports peer-to-peer connections.

It seems that the problem has not yet had a negative impact on transactions with the Uniswap virtual coin (UNI). The crypto exchange’s data shows that the 24-hour trading volume of the native UNI token has increased by 14%. As of today, November 17, the crypto exchange has made $ 269 million worth of trades with Uniswap (UNI).

In early November, more than 97% of Uniswap tokens were recognized as potentially dangerous. Zero-dimensional scam detection researchers concluded that 97.7% of tokens on Uniswap contain malicious code or gaps in smart contracts. At the same time, any developers can add tokens to the platform, and the exchange itself does not conduct internal security checks before listing.
