Cryptocurrency fraudsters who defrauded 500 people arrested in Thailand
Six fraudsters who set up a pseudo-investment company were arrested in Thailand at the request of Taiwan. In total, more than 500 people became their victims. Under the guise of investment, the fraudsters accepted cryptocurrency from the public and then stopped responding to their victims.
Six laptops and 47 mobile phones were seized during the arrest. Law enforcement officials noted that the formal reason for the arrest was other charges: four were suspected of working without a permit, one had an overstayed visa, and another criminal was linked to drug trafficking.
In the near future, the fraudsters are expected to be declared persona non grata and deported to Taiwan, where they will be officially charged with cryptocurrency fraud.
