Axie Infinity cryptocurrency game hacked again

This time, it wasn’t the game itself or the Ronin sidechain that was hacked, but the project’s official Discord channel.

The developers reported that the MEE6 bot was compromised as a result of the unknown person’s actions. The hackers used the MEE6 bot to hack the project’s main server on Discord and began publishing fake messages about the release of new tokens. These messages have now been deleted, but some users will continue to see them until they restart the program.

Technical support for the MEE6 bot denies any involvement in the hack, citing information from its developers. At the time of writing, there is no information about the victims of the attack, but such fake Discord hacks bring hackers decent money.

In April, the developers of the Ronin Network sidechain involved in Axie Infinity reported a hacker attack during which the attackers managed to steal more than $ 600 million in tokens, which is one of the largest cryptocurrency hacks to date. Today, the game is going through hard times, with players leaving the once hugely popular project in droves.
