Whale’s Ethereum cryptocurrency wallet was activated after seven years of inactivity
According to Whale Alerts, an Ethereum cryptocurrency wallet with 500 ETH ($ 631,500 at today’s exchange rate) has been hacked for the first time in more than seven years, as the user transferred his savings to another cryptocurrency wallet.

Some Twitter users began to joke that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin found a dusty wallet under his bed. However, as it turned out, the funds from the crypto wallet were sent to William Sutanto, the chief technology officer of the Indonesian exchange Indodax.
This is not the first time in recent months that cryptocurrency whales have «woken up». In August, after 8 years of inactivity, a bitcoin wallet moved more than 1000 BTC. And at the end of September, an anonymous whale made cryptocurrency transactions worth more than a billion dollars from the Huobi exchange. The first transaction was in the amount of 9,543 BTC, totaling $ 178.87 million at the time of the transfer. Then the whale sent another 9,379 BTC ($ 175.79 million) and finally sent 5,270 BTC ($ 98.79 million). Subsequently, the anonymous person began to withdraw Ethereum from the trading platform. In total, he made 10 transactions worth $ 126.77 million.
