Cryptocurrency wallet Metamask has added the ability to buy tokens for regular money

Cryptocurrency wallet Metamask has added the function of buying cryptocurrency with fiat.

Digital assets can now be purchased in 189 countries, with payment methods depending on the region. Users can pay with a credit or debit card, PayPal, bank transfers, or instant transactions.

Metamask has promised that other payment methods will be added soon. More than 90 tokens will be available for purchase in 7 networks, namely Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche Contract Chain, Fantom, and Celo. The purchase amount will also depend on the country and its laws. Users should note that some countries may impose transaction restrictions.

«We've been busy looking for new partners and local payment methods to make it easier for users to shop with MetaMask. With support for 189 countries across 8 different networks, including L2 networks, funding a personal crypto wallet becomes very easy,» the company wrote on its Twitter account.

Metamask has been developing rapidly lately. A few days ago, the crypto wallet team began testing a new security feature that will warn users if they interact with potential fraudsters.

In the future, MetaMask will be able to support any blockchain and integrate tokens thanks to the Snaps tool, which allows you to expand the wallet’s functionality for free. Thus, the wallet developers hope to facilitate the scaling and mass adoption of Web3 technologies.
