Cryptocurrency crowdfunding will help to make a movie about Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto
Film director Christopher Cannucciari and White Paper Films have announced the start of work on the documentary I Am Not Satoshi. Funds for the film will be raised through the Republic crowdfunding platform created on the basis of Avalanche.
In the second decade after the emergence of bitcoin, the question of who Satoshi Nakamoto, the author of the first cryptocurrency, is still open. Over the years, many cryptocurrency enthusiasts have tried to find out, but no one has succeeded. The documentary I’m Not Satoshi plans to explore the phenomenon of the mysterious creator of bitcoin once again.
«The film relies on comments from BTC users, journalists, and Satoshi’s alleged mentors,» Cannucciari says. «Experts and witnesses will help us understand the events that took place before and after Nakamoto’s disappearance. Our goal is to tell this story before it becomes a myth.»
«I Am Not Satoshi will show the crypto world’s pursuit of the identity of Nakamoto, who suddenly disappeared after the launch of Bitcoin. The movie will highlight some theories about the person or group of people behind the pseudonym. The film will also touch on the controversial question of why some representatives of the cryptocurrency industry believe that Satoshi should remain anonymous.
«I Am Not Satoshi» will mark the first steps in the world of Web3 movies for the Avalanche blockchain, where NFT tokens and collectibles are used to crowdfund the creation of future films.
