FilmCoin cryptocurrency project helps finance movies for the first time

According to Beincrypto journalists, Darkhorse production studio has started shooting the first movie in the history of the film industry to be fully funded by cryptocurrency. For this purpose, the first cryptocurrency tokens for cinema — FilmCoin — will be used.

The Darkhorse team has not yet disclosed all the details of the new film Tales from the trap, but promised that it will be «a true story about the rap industry and the wars between drug gangs.» Darkhorse also emphasized that anyone can contribute to the film: «If you’re interested in having your music featured in the movie or even starring in it, send your music or a video of yourself to the TFTT website, we’ll consider all offers.»

Film producers and token developers are convinced that new methods of film financing will be able to turn the «outdated» idea of films around and «push» Hollywood films off the top. The new digital currency already has well-known investors, including actor and producer Terry Stone. He called FilmCoin the most interesting project he has ever participated in.

Earlier, the developers promised that token holders would have access to exclusive chats with actors and filming participants, receive behind-the-scenes information, and vote on issues submitted by the filmmakers.
