Cryptocurrencies helped UFC fighter earn more than his official salary
According to the Yahoo Finance website, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Francis «The Predator» Ngannou has earned more than his official salary after launching his own NFT collection.
As it has become known, the heavyweight mixed martial arts master Francis Ngannou managed to earn $ 581,000 after launching his own non-fungible token collection, March to the Throne, which was launched after his fight with former UFC champion Stipe Miocic. It’s worth noting that Ngannou earned $ 580,000 from this fight, which is $ 1000 less than from the sale of NFT.
Interestingly, the NFT collection, which included works by the artist Boss Logic, a pair of gloves signed by Francis Ngannou, and real sand from the mines where the fighter worked as a child, was developed long before the fight with Stipe Miocic. However, its launch could only take place if the Predator won, so Ngannou managed to double his earnings from the fight. It should be reminded that Francis Ngannou is not the only one who is expanding his activities and developing in the Web3 space. In April, the undefeated American professional boxer Floyd Mayweather announced the launch of his own Mayweverse metaverse. However, the previous projects advertised by the boxer did not bring any profit to their investors. These projects include: Ethereum Max, Bored Bunny, Real Floyd NFT, and Moonshot.
