China plans to censor NFT tokens
Non-fungible tokens in China will be censored before being mined to «comply with the country’s core values.» This was stated by Liu Tianjian, director of the National Press of China.
From now on, digital collectibles (as NFTs are called in the Chinese media to avoid «speculating» on non-fungible tokens), namely music, animation, games, movies, and TV programs, will be included in the list of illegal assets if they fail to pass the test. It is not yet known what criteria will be used to select NFTs, but experts believe that not all of them will be allowed to enter the market.
It is worth noting that in addition to censorship, China pays considerable attention to digital assets in a positive way. For example, Chinese banks will allow receiving a percentage of the digital national currency. Users of digital yuan will have interest on their assets in the central bank’s digital currency — with the help of «smart management» tools that can detect when funds are not used for a long time.
