Treatment for cryptocurrency addiction costs at least $ 25,000 per week
A VIP-class rehabilitation center in Spain offers services aimed at treating cryptocurrency addiction. The Balance clinic initially focused on alcohol and drug addiction and mental health issues. However, on February 5, the center received a client who asked for help to «wean himself off cryptocurrencies» because the unfortunate trader was making $ 200,000 worth of crypto transactions every week. The man was offered a 4-week therapy with massages and yoga. The total service check could reach $ 75,000.
However, this is not a unique case when people want to get rid of the influence of cryptocurrencies under medical supervision. In Scotland, the Castle Craig rehabilitation hospital treats crypto traders with high adrenaline — the center has already received more than 100 clients with «cryptocurrency problems.»
The Asian region does not differ from the European one in this regard: Diamond Rehabilitation clinic in Thailand has been providing rehabilitation and treatment services for crypto addiction since 2019. Crypto traders are trying to get rid of the craving for digital assets with the help of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and psychodynamic theory (PT).
According to statistics collected by professional psychiatrists dealing with crypto addiction, about 1% of traders have a serious pathological craving for daily asset purchases. Another 10%, in addition to financial losses, lose their families and friendships. Doctors emphasize that if a trader constantly checks the prices of virtual assets on the Internet, especially at night, they should immediately seek help.
