Mastercard to help develop seven cryptocurrency startups
International payments giant Mastercard will help develop seven cryptocurrency startups as part of its Mastercard Start Path fintech accelerator, all to actively promote the adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.
According to the official announcement of Mastercard Start Path, the selected companies will work with Mastercard experts to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 as one of their main goals. Among the startups that will now be supported by Mastercard
- crypto gateway provider Fasset;
- crypto payment platform Digital Treasures Center;
- stablecoin-oriented company Stable;
- social payment system provider Loot Bolt;
- privacy startup Quadrata;
- fintech project based on the blockchain Take Back the Mic;
- uptop platform.
«We welcome new startups to our team and will work together to simplify access to digital assets, build a community for developers, and provide users with access to the technologies of the future,» Mastercard said.
Also recently, Raj Dhamodharan, director of the crypto department of the international payment giant Mastercard, stated that cryptocurrencies have a huge potential to transform the financial infrastructure of the world, and Mastercard is actively working on the introduction of digital assets as an everyday payment method. «In the near future, owning and spending digital assets will be as easy as paying with a contactless card in a store. Cryptocurrencies and central bank digital currencies can fundamentally change the financial system,» Raj Dhamodharan emphasized.
