Mastercard is preparing to launch a collection of cryptocurrency tokens

7:31 pm, January 7, 2023

The multinational financial corporation Mastercard has announced plans to create its own NFT collection. This project will be a part of the initiative to help artists seeking to develop their brands through the Web3 space.

Representatives of the payment giant announced their plans on Friday, January 6, during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. As part of the initiative, the Mastercard Artist Accelerator program will be created, which uses the Polygon blockchain.

The goal of the new project is to help music artists and develop their brands by creating a community and using non-fungible tokens. The payment giant did not disclose which artists will be part of the new initiative, but stated that the accelerator will be completed by the end of this year, resulting in the live performance of selected artists.

According to Mastercard representatives, their initiative will help create a space for creating, collaborating and owning music content. As part of the initiative, Mastercard will release its own NFT collection, Mastercard Music Pass, which will provide hodlers with access to educational materials and other useful resources.
