Hotel chain launches room booking using NFT tokens
Casa de Campo Resort & Villas hotels have started offering guests to book rooms using Room Night Tokens (RNT).
As reported by NFT Evening, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, located in the Dominican Republic, has signed a contract with Pinktada, a room booking service. From now on, everyone will be able to reserve a room by purchasing RNT from Pinktada.
Guests will be able to sell the booked number of nights as NFTs to other people. Visitors who pay for rooms in fiat currency will face unpleasant changes: the usual discounts for regular visitors will cease to apply — only Room Night Tokens holders will receive a price reduction. It is also convenient to use your tokens in other hotels that cooperate with Pinktada (in the Caribbean, Mexico, San Francisco, and Hawaii)
«The motivation for such changes is the desire to attract new consumers who do not book in traditional ways,» said Jason Kicek, vice president of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
The hotel in the Dominican Republic is not the only one that encourages new visitors with non-fungible tokens. The New York hotel NoMo SoHo created NFTs for reservations of its rooms back in May. The benefits offered to guests include late check-out, a gift upon arrival, and free breakfast.
