The Sandbox metaverse will develop the largest virtual skatepark

Virtual platform The Sandbox will develop the largest skatepark in virtual reality — for this purpose, the metaverse will cooperate with one of the world’s most famous skateboarders Tony Hawk and NFT platform Autograph.

As it became known, users of Tony Hawk LAND will be able to buy, sell, and design skateboards and accessories for them. The largest virtual skatepark will consist of 36 land plots and will include «many skateboarding spots and many unexpected routes».

Regarding the cooperation with the NFT platform Autograph: an NFT collection will be launched and avatars with Tony Hawk and his most famous skateboards, equipment and clothing will be developed. «I've been a fan of new technologies all my life, so I’m excited about metaverse and NFT and am happy to integrate skateboard culture into The Sandbox’s virtual space,» said Tony Hawk.

It is not only skateparks that are being integrated into The Sandbox virtual reality. In late June, it became known that a copy of Times Square would be built in the metaverse. The virtual Times Square will serve as an exclusive platform for TIMEPieces members: users will be able to attend various TIME events and meet famous people. And yesterday, the American Playboy magazine announced a collaboration with The Sandbox to develop a virtual Playboy house that will host themed parties for the brand’s fans.
