Metaverse has become so popular that even football players are getting married in them

German footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng has announced that he will celebrate his wedding in virtual reality.

Boateng is getting married to model Valentina Fradegrada on June 11, and the couple’s wedding ceremony will be organized in the OVER meta-universe. Invitations (limited NFT tokens) will be available for purchase on OpenSea.

According to Bitcoinist, the venue was designed and built specifically for Boateng and Fradegrada. The lovers will be the first celebrity couple to get married in the meta-universe.

«I wanted to do something special for Valentina that no one else has done before, and with OVER, we can celebrate our love like no other in a space setting,» Kevin Prince told reporters.

The OVER metaverse is one of the most popular on the Ethereum blockchain. It is built on open-source augmented reality (AR) technology. It allows users to interact with each other simultaneously in real and virtual reality, all they need is augmented reality glasses.
