The International Monetary Fund is not satisfied with the acceptance of bitcoin in the CAR
The IMF believes that the adoption of bitcoin by the Central African Republic as a means of payment will disrupt the transparency of the country’s economy.
Representatives of the fund said that «the adoption of bitcoin in the CAR raises serious problems in the field of law and transparency of economic policy.» «IMF staff is ready to help the authorities of the region and the Central African Republic to solve the problems associated with the new law,» Bloomberg quoted the IMF statement as saying.
Earlier, the Fund called on the government of El Salvador to refuse to recognize bitcoin as legal tender.
