Mobile operator Vodafone develops technology to integrate cryptocurrency wallet into SIM card

The head of blockchain at Vodafone has spoken about the tech giant’s approach to integrating blockchain with mobile communication technology through the use of SIM cards. This became known during a conversation between David Palmer and Yahoo Finance Future Focus host Brian McGlynn.

According to Palmer, by 2023, there will be 8 billion smartphones in operation, the key role of which will be in the implementation of digital applications and commerce. The Vodafone representative emphasized the importance of using SIM card technology to integrate the blockchain. According to him, the company is already working on the implementation of blockchain technologies in the mobile sector.

During the conversation, Palmer predicted the massive adoption of blockchain-based digital wallets on mobile phones. Vodafone expects a surge to 5.6 billion wallets by 2030.
