Cryptocurrency worth $ 2.8 million found on Donald Trump’s digital wallet
The Citizens for Ethics in Washington (CREW) organization has published documents disclosing information about Donald Trump’s digital assets.
The latest CREW data confirms that the former US president, now a defendant, has earned about $ 4.9 million in license fees from the NFT collection launched as part of his bid to return to the White House. Currently, Trump has about $ 2.8 million in cryptocurrencies on his account, with assets stored on an Ethereum wallet.
In recent months, sales of Donald Trump’s NFTs have increased dramatically. Initially, the profitable dynamics was recorded after the first indictment of the former president in a New York state court. According to the April OGE report, the digital token collection enriched the politician by $ 1 million.
However, the price of the collection subsequently dropped when the newly minted presidential candidate launched a second set of NFT tokens. In June, his wife Melania Trump joined him with her project The 1776 Collection.
It is noteworthy that earlier in an interview with Fox Business, the politician called digital assets «a scam and an extremely dangerous thing.»
«I have never been attracted to cryptocurrencies because I like the dollar. I’ve never been a big fan of it,» Trump said at the time.
We would like to add that the US Government Ethics Office recently published a report on Donald Trump’s financial disclosure. The agency claimed that he keeps up to $ 500,000 in cryptocurrency on his Ethereum wallet.
