The largest virtual platforms have united to develop a common strategy for the development of metaverse
Some of the largest virtual platforms have announced the launch of their own alliance, the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 (OMA3), to develop common standards in Web3 and create a common strategy for the development of metaverse.
The Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 association includes: Alien Worlds, Animoca Brands, Dapper Labs, Space, Superworld, The Sandbox, Upland, Voxels. According to the representatives of the partner companies, the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, decentralization, and democratization will be the main ones in the work of OMA3.
OMA3 is formed on the DAO principle, so management and decision-making will be decentralized. According to the first list of tasks, the partners will develop unified standards for NFTs to simplify identification in different meta-universes.
Recently, Meta, Microsoft, Unity, Sony, and more than 30 other large companies developing content for metaverse have announced their unification in the Metaverse Standards Forum to develop a global strategy for the development of virtual reality. The business giants emphasized that one of the main goals of the association is to ensure that the development of metaverse is managed jointly by the companies and there is no «dominant party».
