Major virtual reality developers accused of lacking real users

According to DappRadar’s analysis, most metaversions display inaccurate data on the number of their active users. The crypto community and potential investors might have had some questions about the Decentraland and The Sandbox virtual worlds, as the number of daily active users was minimal. However, the developers were able to explain everything.

As it became known from the published data of DappRadar, Decentraland ($MANA) has only 30 active users per day. Decentraland reported that active users are unique blockchain wallet addresses that interact with the system. That is, those who simply enter the chat room or interact with others are not counted. Thus, the platform has an average of about 8,000 users daily that DappRadar does not see.

As for The Sandbox, DappRadar noticed only 616 active users per day. Representatives of The Sandbox also commented on the report’s findings, emphasizing that the platform has 39,000 monthly users (about 4,703 daily).

DappRadar did not analyze the daily number of users in the Horizon Worlds metaverse, which failed to meet the expectations of not only users but also its developers. According to the company, even the specialists who worked on the creation of the metaverse do not want to use the application. «The feedback from our developers, users, testers, and many other team members is that due to the overall number of malfunctions, stability issues, and bugs, it’s hard to feel the 'Horizon magic' at the moment. Simply put, for an experience to be great and memorable, it must first be usable and well-designed,» said Vishal Shah, Meta’s Vice President of Metaverse.
