The largest bitcoin owner criticized Elon Musk for selling 75% of BTC

8:37 pm, July 22, 2022

Michael Say lor, CEO of MicroStrategy Corporation, which is the largest commercial holder of BTC, criticized Elon Musk for selling 75% of BTC to Tesla.

In his tweet published after the news of the conversion of 75% of Tesla’s BTC into cash, which brought the company $ 936 million, Michael Saylor ridiculed such actions. «If you sell 75% of your bitcoins, you’ll only have 25% of your BTC left,» Saylor tweeted.

The MicroStrategy CEO is one of the most prominent bitcoin supporters who has repeatedly emphasized the prospects of digital assets and the illogic of selling BTC when the asset’s value is falling. «Risks are only part of the game. It’s important to keep holding bitcoin and buy as much cryptocurrency as you can afford,» Sailor emphasized after buying another amount of the flagship cryptocurrency.

Elon Musk’s position on the expediency of selling bitcoin is somewhat different, as the sale of the cryptocurrency was driven by the need to increase liquidity during the period of anti-covid restrictions in China. Thus, the company temporarily closed its plant in Shanghai, which led to problems with the supply of machinery and equipment to plants in Berlin and Texas — Tesla began to lose billions of dollars.
