The oldest museum in Ukraine has launched its own NFT collection on the Binance marketplace
The Kharkiv Art Museum has launched a new token collection on the Binance NFT marketplace to help raise money for the preservation of the exhibition. The collection includes 15 works of art from the museum’s collection, and the proceeds will be used to restore Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
The museum is one of the oldest in Ukraine and has about 25 thousand works of fine art. It exhibits paintings by Albrecht Dürer, Ivan Aivazovsky, and Simon de Flieger, which are now part of the NFT collection.
Binance NFT Chairman Lisa He said: «In times of war, when donors are looking for a secure way to transfer donations, NFT becomes one of the most trusted digital assets for such purposes. The combination of new NFT technology and Ukraine’s ancient spiritual heritage will help restore culture and history in real time.»
Kharkiv is still under the most active shelling by the Russian occupiers. The authors of the project, who decided to present the NFT exposition, want to preserve the city’s cultural gems no matter what. However, if something does happen to them, NFT tokens will become another reminder of the acts of terror and vandalism by the Russian invaders.
It should be noted that NFTs are actively used as an act of resistance by Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. Thus, Ukraine’s largest charity NFT project META HISTORY and the Ministry of Culture announced the 5th stage of fundraising for the restoration of iconic cultural heritage monuments that suffered from Russian terrorists. They presented new NFTs from the Warline collection of the Digital Museum of War. The META HISTORY project has been launched since the end of March and has already brought the state about 300 ETH (over $ 400,000).
Also, Ukrainian NFT token developers have launched a game in support of the soldiers of the Azov Battalion, heroes who bravely held the defense of the Mariupol-based Azovstal enterprise for 86 days under constant shelling and bombardment by the Russian occupiers. We would like to add that the NFTs about the Azov soldiers are still available for purchase on the OpenSea digital marketplace.
