Nassim Taleb believes that the NFT token market will collapse
Nassim Taleb, a well-known writer, economist, and former trader, author of the bestselling book Black Swan, has announced on Twitter that the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) sector could collapse.
He stated that the increase in interest rates as a result of the US Federal Reserve tightening its fiscal and credit policies would cause the entire NFT sector to collapse.
«All it takes is a higher interest rate to make things that don’t make sense really stop making sense,» Taleb said.
Taleb always reminds us of the approach of «black swans» during serious challenges facing humanity — events that turn everything upside down and from which no one is immune. In the case of NFT, Taleb also decided not to stand aside.
It is quite difficult to understand whether Taleb is right in his assessment. On the one hand, NFT depreciated by 10,000% in the first tweet, as the famous writer commented. On the other hand, Deutsche Bank believes that the launch of NFT on the Instagram platform will lead to a market boom. In fact, the macroeconomic and geopolitical environment will have the greatest impact on the future value and place in crypto assets, as all analysts agree.
