8:33 am, August 16, 2022

Vladimir van der Laan, the chief developer of bitcoin and successor to BTC founder Satoshi Nakamoto, has announced that he is resigning — Vladimir van der Laan is one of the few people in the world who has access to Bitcoin Core, the main «place» where the bitcoin protocol is developed.

According to Vladimir van der Laan, the main reason for his resignation is exhaustion. Interestingly, the developers of the flagship cryptocurrency are essentially volunteers who sometimes receive charitable donations from bitcoin whales. However, according to the developers, these donations are insufficient compared to the salaries of other specialists in the crypto industry.

Satoshi Nakamoto’s successor also said that he was tired of the constant attention of the cryptocurrency community and criticism for any mistakes. Vladimir Van Der Laan denied rumors of his involvement in other cryptocurrency projects.

As a reminder, the self-proclaimed father of bitcoin, Craig Wright, recently promised the crypto community to prove his involvement in the creation of the BTC. However, Wright later said that he did not have the courage to publish all the evidence of access to the early keys.
