The tech giant that will support cryptocurrency startups the most in 2022 has been named
According to Blockdata researchers, the South Korean tech giant Samsung has become the most active investor in the cryptocurrency industry, investing about $ 6 billion in crypto startups.
According to the Blockdata report, from September 2021 to June 2022, Samsung representatives invested in 13 projects related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies. In total, the list of the biggest friends of cryptocurrency startups includes 7 corporations, including
- united Overseas Bank, one of the largest banks in Singapore;
- international financial conglomerate Citigroup;
- investment company Goldman Sachs;
- investment company Blackrock;
- google's parent company Alphabet;
- financial conglomerate Morgan Stanley.
As for Samsung, the company has already announced plans to invest in MachineFi technology. The term was coined by the IoTeX project to describe a futuristic model in which machines become the main workforce running on Web3 technology. According to Samsung Next CEO Raymond Liao, the firm is focusing on investing in blockchain, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality. «What IoTeX is going for fits into several of our areas of focus. I hope we can contribute to the continued success of MachineFi. It’s very exciting ,» Liao explained.
Samsung has also recently signed a cooperation agreement with Theta Labs — together with the web developer, the tech giant will create an NFT ecosystem. It will focus entirely on the interaction with non-fungible tokens and virtual worlds. According to the company’s representatives, this will allow combining the benefits of Samsung’s real-life technology with virtual technologies.
