ChatGPT neural network has generated a valid key to activate Windows 95
A YouTube user under the pseudonym Enderman posted a video showing how he made ChatGPT generate usable Windows 95 activation keys. It turned out that the popular chatbot can be used to hack operating systems, albeit not very modern ones.
Asking the chatbot to provide Windows 95 keys, the user initially received the expected refusal. ChatGPT explained that it could not perform this task and suggested that the user look for a newer version of Windows. To force the AI to fulfill his request, Enderman formulated the task for the chatbot in a special way. The blogger asked ChatGPT to create a sequence of numbers describing the exact requirements. As a result, one of the 30 activation keys generated by ChatGPT was suitable.
According to the blogger, «the only problem that prevents ChatGPT from successfully generating valid Windows 95 keys is that it cannot count the sum of digits and does not know divisibility.»
After successfully generating valid keys to activate Windows 95, Enderman thanked the AI, writing: «Thank you for these free Windows 95 keys.» ChatGPT initially claimed that it was not involved, but when it realized that it had helped to activate the Windows 95 installation, it replied: «Sorry, but that’s not possible…».
As a reminder, hackers have learned how to infect Windows and Android using ChatGPT. Attackers create websites that spread viruses under the guise of a desktop version of the chatbot. To gain the trust of users, the attackers even created fake pages on social networks and gained several thousand subscribers. Alvieri also drew attention to the fact that the malicious application appeared in the Google Play marketplace under the name ChatGPT Chatteo AI Chat GPT.
