The story of the hacking of the bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange, which resulted in the loss of almost $ 400 million, continues. As it became known, an unknown hacker published tips for his «colleague» on how to launder the stolen $ 400 million.

The situation was reported by Coinbase CEO Conor Grogan, who noticed an unusual transfer of ETH from one wallet to another on Etherscan. The transaction contained a message in which the hacker told the FTX thief how best to launder the huge sum.

The sender suggested that the attacker use privacy-oriented crypto-mixing services rather than popular solutions such as ChipMixer. Mixers allow users to hide their transactions when moving assets and are a common tool among crypto fraudsters. The user emphasized that he was ready to share additional information with the hacker about mixers and other money laundering methods and provided his name on Telegram for further communication.

It is not yet known why the alleged hacker provided his own advice to the $ 400 million thief and whether this is a trap for the attacker. The Coinbase CEO compared such an attempt to help with cold calls in sales, when salespeople call potential customers, obsessively offering their own products and services.
