An unknown person bought 0.06% of all bitcoins in the world in just one transaction

Santiment, a well-known online data aggregation platform, has spread information about a new BTC whale on the crypto market. The unknown person accumulated an impressive amount of the flagship cryptocurrency in just one transaction.

The address to which approximately 13 370 BTC were sent is brand new, and the tokens were transferred in a single transfer. This amount of bitcoin is equivalent to a whopping $ 313.1 million. After the transfer, the price of BTC fell by about 0.37%.

By the beginning of January, users holding from 0.1 BTC to 100 BTC had accumulated a large amount of bitcoin, adding about 9% of their assets. Santiment called it one of the most aggressive buying cycles in the history of cryptocurrencies.

The price of bitcoin fell after the release of the January employment report. It exceeded economists' expectations, being more than twice as strong as expected. Thus, in January, 517,000 new jobs were created against 188,000 predicted by economists, and the unemployment rate was 3.4% (a 50-year low) instead of 3.6%.

As the labor market remains overheated, the flagship cryptocurrency reacted by falling below the $ 24,000 level, which it recovered earlier this week.
