Thus, after the official presentation of the new iPhone, cryptocurrency fraudsters seized the moment and launched a fake live broadcast on Apple’s fake YouTube channel, which was viewed by tens of thousands of users in a few hours. The description of the broadcast contained a phishing link, which users clicked on at the risk of losing their funds. For the fake live broadcast, hackers used an old interview with Apple CEO Tim Cook conducted by CNN journalists in 2018. The broadcast was titled «Apple Event Live. Apple CEO Tim Cook: Apple and the Metaverse in 2022».
