First American university to accept payments in cryptocurrencies
Bentley, one of the oldest private universities in the United States, has announced that it is ready to work with cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for student tuition, according to the university’s website.
The university clearly does not like volatility, so payments will be accepted only in BTC, ETH, and USDS stablecoins. The technological basis for this will be provided by the Coinbase exchange, with which the relevant agreement was signed.
The president of the university, Labrent Kreit, said that his institution has always kept pace with the times and he is pleased that the university is already using the technology that students are essentially just beginning to learn.
By the way, as part of the curriculum this year, Bentley will offer a course on cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and DeFi (decentralized finance).
Earlier, a Dubai developer announced the possibility of buying luxury real estate for cryptocurrency.
