PayPal payment service started supporting bitcoin in its mobile application

7:25 pm, August 17, 2022

PayPal has added the ability to buy, sell, and transfer cryptocurrencies through its mobile app. The service now supports BTC, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. The minimum transaction amount is $ 1.

Users of the app have access to domestic and international transfers, as well as the ability to pay with digital currencies for purchases in online stores that support PayPal.

The company’s app provides access to educational content on cryptocurrencies by placing a separate section on its website.

«Please note that we cannot protect you from losses due to market volatility. Transferring cryptocurrencies on the blockchain also involves risk — the transaction may be delayed or even lost. Please make sure you readour instructions carefully to ensure you buy and sell with PayPal properly,» the company warned customers.

Back in early June, PayPal allowed its customers to make cryptocurrency transfers in its mobile app. And shortly before the launch of bitcoin support, PayPal, together with the audit company Deloitte, conducted a survey among Americans about their attitude to crypto payments. The service concluded that in the near future, private enterprises of all sizes will be able to send and receive crypto payments without any obstacles.
