NVIDIA driver bug prevents cryptocurrency mining
The press service of mining firm Nicehash has reported that its technicians have discovered a problem with the latest software from NVIDIA. The tech giant’s developers recently announced the v526.47 video card driver. As it turned out, it caused certain problems for cryptocurrency miners.
The company stated that the latest update caused interruptions with a number of video cards and virtual asset mining algorithms, and numerous users complained that they could not play their favorite games. Other customers were outraged that they could not launch miners even though all the settings were correct. Later, it turned out that the problems were observed only for those owners of video cards who had updated their drivers to version 526.47.
The Nicehash developers recommended that users use older versions of the drivers — 522.30 or 522.25 — as they had no problems with stability. The specialists assured that they have already contacted NVIDIA programmers and are working on fixing the bugs. As soon as the issues are resolved, the company will announce a new update, and it will be available for download to all users.
Recently, we reported a problem with the power cable in Nvidia RTX graphics cards: the plastic housing of the 16-pin connector melted during operation. The media found out that the reason for the overheating and melting was the poor quality of the 12VHPWR adapter on the power cable — the adapter uses a metal jumper that is too thin and easily broken. Experts believe that Nvidia may soon announce the withdrawal of the Nvidia RTX 4090 from the market.
