Cryptocurrencies will be taught at US universities

5:20 pm, June 23, 2022

The University of Cincinnati has announced the launch of two degree programs on cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, and new financial technologies.

According to Finbold, friends of the university, financier Dan Kautz and investment advisor Yulia Woodrow, agreed to sponsor the new programs. Graduates of business colleges will be encouraged to enroll in the crypto programs. The donations will also be used to create a public-private Digital Future laboratory, which is expected to open in the fall of 2022.

«Thanks to the new programs, our students will receive practical education in the field of financial technologies. They will learn how to manage cryptocurrencies and how such digital assets affect the economy,» said Marianne Lewis, a representative of the university.

The University of Cincinnati is not the first educational institution in America to become interested in web3 technologies. Last week, the University of Arizona announced that it would issue non-fungible tokens to authenticate event tickets and certificates. They also plan to conduct virtual classes in the meta-universe.
