Developed an alpha version of a fully secure blockchain-based calling application
Bitfinex, Tether, and Hypercore have developed an alpha version of the fully secure video calling app Keet. Earlier, the developers of these companies teamed up to create fully encrypted P2P applications and launched the Holepunch platform, the first product of their collaboration is the Keet app. According to Tether representatives on Twitter, the program gives users full control over their data and communication channels without using cloud software or external servers as intermediaries. Several cryptographic keys are used to secure the direct connection.
«The free app uses peer-to-peer connections to provide real-time audio and video calls, emails, and file sharing. It is based on an innovative stack of distributed technologies,» Tether representatives explained.
The Holepunch protocol is currently in alpha testing mode and has closed source code. However, the developers plan to open it by the end of 2022. It also became known that the Holepunch platform will support the integration of the USDT stablecoin into its system.
