Bitcoin network developer tells how work on the most popular cryptocurrency looks like
In this week’s episode of Bitcoin Bottom Line, the hosts were joined by Gloria Zhao, a Bitcoin Core developer, who spoke about the daily routine of people working on the world’s largest cryptocurrency.
Zhao explained the reasons why she started working on the BTC: «From the very beginning, there were many ideas within the project that I found appealing, and there are also many interesting engineering and technical challenges to work on. As a student studying computer science, I was attracted to it.»
«I grew up in Silicon Valley, so I think that gave me an idea of how endless the pursuit of this idea of 'innovation' and profit is, and so that aspect has always been pretty small to me. Bitcoin was something completely different, and I immediately had a desire to work on it.»
Zhao explained that the project does not have a solution vertical: «We don’t have a boss in the classic sense. Although it’s similar to working on any other software project, we fix bugs not because someone says so, but because we understand the importance of our work.»
