The Sims developer to release NFT game

Will Wright, the creator of the iconic The Sims, has embarked on a new project that promises to conquer two markets: gaming and cryptocurrency. It is a blockchain-based game where gamers will be able to pay for purchases with cryptocurrency and create their own NFTs. The metaverse is called VoxVerse.

VoxVerse is a virtual world that takes place on a huge cube where players own land, create their own projects, mine resources, and communicate. Wright hopes that the online game will appeal to three different groups of players.

The first will be blockchain fans. The second will be investors who want to invest in land plots in the form of NFTs. Owning the «digital land», they will lease it to the next group, the creators. Thus, the game will create a unique economic system. Part of the money that creators receive for their work will be transferred to the «landlord».

This cryptocurrency project is backed by Gala Games, which has invested more than $ 25 million in it. The company wants to popularize the game’s characters, which are actually NFTs. By the way, players can resell them to other gamers.

Wright plans to transfer The Sims game to the blockchain as well. Time will tell whether it will work out.
